Future Sense was founded by Jenny Ibbotson who is presently its Executive Directive.
The idea of Future Sense is based on the premise that our current deeply embedded beliefs and attitudes – or thoughts – are always creating our reality. Therefore our present moments create our future reality.
Thus Future Sense is an initiative that encompasses several ideas. The first being a question which asks what sort of future we want to create both individually and collectively. My first book The Obedient Universe examines how we create our individual reality; and my second book, How We Can Save the World, examines how we create our collective reality.
Without going too much into the philosophy of what reality is, I believe that the current advances in quantum physics are converging with some very ancient ideas. Could our reality be an illusion? or perhaps a fluid experience which we can and do change all the ‘time’. “In Advaita Vedanta philosophy, māyā is the limited, purely physical and mental reality in which our everyday consciousness has become entangled. Māyā is held to be an illusion, a veiling of the true, unitary Self—the Cosmic Spirit also known as Brahman“. These ideas are counter intuitive to our Western minds but they may, when accepted, create the portal to wonderful, new and joyful experiences.
My vision or sense of the future is that more and more, we will realise our ability to consciously create our reality. And to create one that reflects who we truly are – beings who are infinitely wise, abundant, joyful and powerful.
This opens the way to exploring many paths which is another aspect of Future Sense – the continuous and expansive understanding of our human experience.
Thus Future Sense promotes personal empowerment in its widest sense. It explores how we can create our individual and collective realities and how we can experience all that is the real nature of the universe.
